“When I was looking to improve my marathon time, I ran across an article that advised that you should look at incorporating other fitness activities such as Yoga, CrossFit and more to help improve not only your overall health but your desired activity.
I was looking for something that provided this and discovered CrossFit at The Firm. I was intimidated to try to go into a gym environment. I couldn’t do a push-up or pull-up and I had no idea what downward dog even was and just giggled when I first heard it. The first time I walked through the door and was greeted with an incredible smile and hello, a little over four years ago, I immediately felt at home.
I’m so thankful for that article that turned me onto The Firm. I travel often for work and am always looking for a place like The Firm when on the road and I have yet to find a place like it. Everyone knows your name, everyone is there to truly support your goals and no matter your skill level you feel at home, safe and encouraged to improve. Having so many varied activities helps with everything, yoga helps with flexibility, preventing injury and heck just clears my mind. CrossFit helps me get more strength and cardio and is a killer, hard and great camaraderie (especially snatch day), and then there is both Cycle and APT.
My one release that I view as “active recovery” are Saturday’s with Doug in Vintage. Where else can someone try to live up to the excitement of 80’s aerobic step class? Although I always leave class going, “What the heck was that?” I am also smiling ear to ear. And the best part of The Firm are all the new friends I’ve found over the years. It really has become a second family and the best place I’ve found to pursue a mental and physical healthy lifestyle.”
